Mr. Ho Van Muoi - Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee said that the locality has been actively and proactively proposing and coordinating with central ministries and branches to remove difficulties in overlapping mineral planning, especially bauxite.
According to statistics, Dak Nong has about 2,396km² of bauxite resources and reserves assessed, accounting for about 1/3 of the province's natural area.
According to Decision 866 dated July 18, 2023 of the Prime Minister on mineral planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, bauxite ore is distributed over a total area of more than 1,670km², accounting for 25% of the natural area of Dak Nong province.
The widespread distribution of bauxite ore has covered common construction material mineral deposits and areas of other economic and social activities.
This is the main cause of overlapping planning in Dak Nong.
According to statistics, Dak Nong has 425 public investment projects requiring land use for construction works. The total land area overlapping with bauxite planning is about 6,692 hectares.
Projects located in the overlapping area are mainly related to the economic and social development of the province, projects using public investment capital, using budget capital, including key national projects and works...
Dak Nong has 232 approved mines for common construction materials, with a total reserve of 239 million m³. However, up to 83 mines overlap with bauxite planning.
This leads to many areas of landfill material being difficult to exploit to serve the project and construction needs of the people.
In this context, Dak Nong has had many documents and reports to the Prime Minister and central ministries and branches, paying attention to and removing difficulties and obstacles of the province regarding the issue of overlapping planning.
In particular, Dak Nong is facing difficulties in solutions to recover and protect minerals to implement projects in the bauxite planning area; exploit minerals for common construction materials in the bauxite planning area.
Besides, Dak Nong province also faces difficulties in licensing and adjusting investment policies for socio-economic development projects.
The Central Government has recognized the difficulties and obstacles and is proposing solutions to help Dak Nong province develop.
