On February 5, the Military Command of Quang Tri province said that the unit had just presided over and coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Tri province to bring the two martyrs back to their hometown for burial according to the wishes of their families after verifying their identities.
The two remains were identified as martyr Nguyen Minh Thuan, native of Trang Xa, Vo Nhai, Thai Nguyen and martyr Trinh Ngoc Tac, native of Dinh Hung, Yen Dinh, Thanh Hoa. These are two of the five martyrs' remains found and collected by Team 584 for the Repatriation of Martyrs' Remains in Trai Ca village, Dakrong commune, from information provided by units that fought on the Quang Tri battlefield, veterans and local people.

More than a month after the time of collection and discovery of artifacts carved with information, the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command urgently coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs and relevant agencies and localities to review and compare dossiers, verify the names of martyrs and collect opinions from relatives. When there was an official conclusion, the working delegation organized the relocation of martyr Nguyen Minh Thuan to his hometown of Thai Nguyen and martyr Trinh Ngoc Tac to his hometown of Thanh Hoa according to the family's wishes.
Previously, from January 9 to now, Team 584 discovered and collected five sets of martyrs' remains in people's melaleuca forest, lying under the soil, along with many artifacts such as shoe soles, ammunition boxes. Notably, there are artifacts engraved with names buried with the remains: martyr Nguyen Minh Thuan has a piece of paper recording information; martyr Trinh Ngoc Tac has a bullet fragment engraved with his name. In addition, artifacts also appeared recording "TRAN VAN SIEU; 3/3 (or 8/8); VUONG CHI CAO".
Currently, functional agencies of Quang Tri province continue to review and clarify the identities of the remaining remains.
