At this time in previous years, Quang Chinh peach blossom village (Quang Chinh commune, Thanh Hoa province) was always bustling with the atmosphere of peach blossom care, traders flocked to order. However, this year's records show that the atmosphere is much quieter when most of the peach growing area of people has died due to the impact of prolonged storms and floods before.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vuong (44 years old, a peach grower in Quang Chinh commune) said that in September and October 2025, the locality was continuously affected by many storms accompanied by heavy rain, causing many peach growing areas to be flooded and then die en masse.
My family has 7 sao of peach trees, about 300 trees were flooded and died, with estimated damage of about 600 million VND. Due to too many dead peach trees, the family was forced to pull down damaged trees to plant medicinal herbs, which are short-term trees, in order to salvage some of the damage," Mr. Vuong shared.

Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy's family (35 years old, residing in Phu Luong village) has about 150 phai peach trees that died due to flooding caused by storms, estimated damage from 100 to 200 million VND. "My family is luckier than some other households because before the storm, they had time to clear sewers, otherwise the damage would have been much greater," Mr. Thuy said.
According to many peach growers in Quang Chinh commune, the rain and storm in 2025 caused serious damage. Some households lost dozens of trees, while many households lost up to hundreds of peach trees. All capital and effort invested in the Tet peach crop were almost swept away, causing many families to fall into poverty.

To reduce damage, after the storm, many households plucked away the dead peach blossoms to plant medicinal herbs and some other short-term crops.
According to records up to now, peach growers in Quang Chinh commune are still diligently taking care of the remaining peach trees, hoping that the trees will grow well and bloom right on the upcoming Lunar New Year.
Quang Chinh peach growers hope that this year's Tet peach season can sell at a good price, helping people reduce hardship after a year of hardship. At the same time, people also expect functional agencies to soon have support policies for peach growing households heavily damaged by storms and floods.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai - official of the Economic Department of Quang Chinh Commune People's Committee - said that in 2025, the locality was affected by many storms and prolonged heavy rains, causing dozens of hectares of peach trees to be flooded and die en masse, causing great economic damage to people.
This year is considered a particularly difficult year for peach growers in the area. The whole commune has nearly 70 hectares of peach cultivation, of which more than 40 hectares were affected by storms and floods, with total damage estimated at about 16 billion VND," Mr. Hai informed.
Also according to the People's Committee of Quang Chinh commune, after the storm and flood, the local government has conducted a review, made a list, and compiled statistics of damage caused by rain and floods, and sent them to Thanh Hoa province to request consideration and support, in order to help people reduce difficulties and soon restore production.
