Long An - While digging a ditch next to their house, people discovered a MK82 bomb, weighing about 200kg, left over from the war period.

On May 13, the Military Command of Duc Hue District, Long An Province informed that this unit had coordinated with functional forces to handle, remove and safely destroy a bomb remaining after the war, discovered by local residents while digging up soil for gardening in Hamlet 1, Binh Hoa Nam Commune.

Previously, on May 10, 2025, while digging a ditch near his house, Mr. Ho Van Dang discovered a bomb and immediately reported it to the Commune Military Command. After receiving the report, the Military Command of Binh Hoa Nam commune quickly reported to the Military Command of Duc Hue district for handling.

That same day, the Duc Hue District Military Command reported to the Long An Provincial Military Command and quickly arrived, coordinating with the Provincial Engineering Department and the Commune Military Command to block off the scene and evacuate people to safe areas.

After inspection, this is a MK82 bomb, weighing about 200kg, remaining from the war period, with a very high risk of explosion. The authorities removed the bomb from a house and organized the destruction according to technical procedures, ensuring absolute safety for people and people in the area.

At the same time, the authorities also instructed people to strictly comply with the regulations of the state and the army on timely detection and reporting of explosive materials remaining after the war.
