The project to raise water to create a landscape in the center of Ha Giang city started in February 2023 with a total investment of 330 billion VND. The project includes the construction of a raising dam, a management and operation bridge combined with traffic with a length of more than 123 meters, and a road leading to both ends of the bridge of nearly 63 meters.

When completed, the project will create a lake with a surface area of nearly 54 hectares and a capacity of 2.2 million m3, helping to create landscapes and regulate the climate. Water level regulation is done with 3 sluice gates and equipment to raise and lower the dam using a hydraulic cylinder system.
According to PV on February 13, after 2 years of construction, the shape of the dam has gradually appeared. At the construction site, dozens of workers and machinery have been mobilized to implement the project. The foundation and body of the dam have been basically completed. Some piers of the traffic bridge have been completed. Workers are bailing water to set up scaffolding and start construction of the arch bridge.
Mr. Hoang Van Hoi - Construction site manager said that the construction is carried out on the riverbed, so weather conditions are very important. It is the dry season so workers are mobilized to speed up the project progress.
"Workers are constructing arch span number 2, bailing water to erect scaffolding for arch span number 3, and completing arch spans 4 and 5. There are about 40 workers on duty to speed up the project's progress. The dam has been completed to an elevation of 105 meters.
After the Tet holiday, workers have been mobilized to implement the project. We aim to complete it by October this year," said Mr. Hoi.
On February 13, speaking with Lao Dong newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Song Tu - Deputy Director of the Ha Giang Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that up to now, the project progress has been completed by more than 60%, striving to complete in 2025. The dam part has been basically completed, and the arch bridge part is currently under construction.
The project, when completed, will help raise and maintain a stable water level for the Lo River. It will regulate the climate, improve the ecological environment, and develop tourism. The bridge on the dam will connect Highway 2 with the southern beltway of the city.
