On August 23, functional forces controlled and extinguished a forest fire in the Dau Voi mountain area (Cat Lam village, Hoi Son commune, Gia Lai).
According to initial information, the fire broke out on August 21. Functional forces organized firefighting and extinguishing the fire. However, due to hot weather and strong winds, the fire suddenly flared up again, causing many difficulties for firefighting work.
To control the fire, Hoi Son commune mobilized local forces, coordinated with provincial forces and officers and soldiers of Regiment 739, Gia Lai Provincial Military Command to deploy firefighting.
The area where the fire occurred is located on high hills and mountains, with dangerous terrain. The fire mainly burns under the forest canopy and the undergrowth, making it difficult to detect, approach and handle thoroughly.
By the evening of August 22, the fire was basically under control. Functional forces continued to inspect and monitor the area.
The damaged forest area is being statistically and evaluated by functional agencies. The cause of the fire is being clarified.
