On August 22, Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health said that it had requested medical examination and treatment facilities to review and overcome the shortcomings, limitations, and defects pointed out by the inspection agency.
The Department of Health requires clinics to ensure operating conditions suitable to the scope of expertise and the approved technical list; overcome shortcomings in facilities, human resources, medical equipment, infection control, anaphylactic emergency, price listing, records, books and professional procedures.
In particular, do not perform techniques outside the licensed scope; stop using unsafe equipment, carry out maintenance, inspection, and standardization according to regulations before putting it into use.
Previously, the Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate inspected 127 dossiers for issuing medical examination and treatment operating licenses issued by the Department of Health; inspected and verified at 16 Medical Centers, 5 general clinics and 12 specialized clinics in the area.
The inspection agency determined that some licensing dossiers did not ensure conditions on facilities; did not have a certificate of practice process; lacked a list of registered practitioners; did not have a business registration certificate; licensed immunization activities were not in accordance with regulations...
At some Health Centers, the number of doctors performing medical examination and treatment is not guaranteed; procedures, professional books and consultation records are not in accordance with regulations or have not been updated; prescribing common medicines, "N" medicines (addictive) in violation of regulations; management and dispensing of medicines are not in accordance with regulations...
The Inspectorate also pointed out many shortcomings at the clinics. In which, Huong Son General Clinic, Thanh Long General Clinic, 38 Le Loi General Clinic and Toan My General Clinic have people in charge of infection control who do not have training certificates as prescribed.
At Doctor To Ngoc Binh Clinic, the field of X-rays and tests has not been licensed to operate during office hours but is still carried out. The clinic also does not store complete patient information, and the anaphylactic emergency box lacks a needle size 14-16G.
Hoai Nhon General Internal Medicine Clinic does not have maintenance records for ultrasound machines and echocardiogram machines. Hoai Nhon Medical Laboratory has some equipment that has not been calibrated since July 1, 2025.
At Quy Nhon Dental Clinic, doctor Nguyen Thi Th. is licensed to practice examination and treatment of teeth - jaw - face but performs X-rays for patients.
Pediatric specialist clinic doctor Tran Quoc Dung has no place to receive patients; nose aspirator without origin; anaphylactic emergency box lacking needles size 14-16G.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate, the causes of the above shortcomings and limitations are due to the Department of Health's inspection and review of dossiers after licensing not being strict; the inspection, control, and urging of medical examination and treatment facilities are not effective.
Responsibility for the existing shortcomings and limitations is determined to belong to the Department of Health, Professional Affairs Departments, Health Centers, clinics and a number of related collectives and individuals.
