The Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Ministry of Public Security said that despite repeated warnings from functional forces, many drivers still stop their vehicles on highways and place dangerous warnings according to "emotional" principles.
This reality poses a very high risk of collision, especially when vehicles behind are moving at high speed. According to the Traffic Police Department, when encountering an emergency such as a broken car, tire burst, running out of fuel, collision accident or people on the car having health problems, drivers are allowed to stop the car but must quickly bring the vehicle into the emergency lane or close to the right side.
After that, the driver must turn on the hazard warning light and place a warning sign or reflective cone at a minimum distance of 150m from the rear of the vehicle so that the vehicles behind can recognize and handle the situation in time.
People on the vehicle need to leave the vehicle, stand outside the right guardrail to ensure safety. In case of collision, the scene can be quickly recorded by images and then the vehicle can be urgently moved to a safe location, and at the same time contact the functional forces via 19008099 or the route management unit.
The Traffic Police Department said that in the past time, many accidents have occurred due to drivers placing warnings too close to the vehicle, causing the vehicle behind not to have enough time to react. The act of placing warnings not in accordance with regulations may be fined from 12-14 million VND, and at the same time deduct 6 points from the driver's license.

Functional forces recommend that drivers, especially long-distance business vehicles, always equip themselves with warning signs with lights or reflective cones on their vehicles. Strict compliance with regulations is not only to avoid being penalized but more importantly to protect their own lives and the lives of other traffic participants.
