The Ring Road 5 project connecting with National Highway 37 was approved by the People's Committee of Phu Binh district under Decision No. 31.3.3025. This is a Group B project with a total investment of 290 billion VND.
According to Lao Dong, the Phu Binh District Construction Investment Project Management Board has just announced the bidding for the project Construction Package: The route connecting Ring Road 5 with National Highway 37.
The above construction package is worth more than 191 billion VND from the provincial budget decentralized, supported, and public investment capital from the district budget. The bid closing date is June 22, 2025. The contract implementation period is 540 days.
In the coming time, after the contractor selection results are approved by the investor, the winning bidder will construct a 2.186 km long road through Xuan Phuong commune, Phu Binh district.

According to the project documents, this Level III traffic project has a roadbed width of 40 m, a road surface width of 25 m, a sidewalk width of 12 m, and a median width of 3 m. Design speed of 50 km/h.
The structure of the road surface from top to bottom includes: 5 cm thick asphalt concrete layer, applied with quickly separated soy sauce vs. water; 7 cm thick asphalt concrete layer, slowly separated soy sauce vs. water; crushed stone aggregate foundation layer 1 is 28 cm thick, type 2 is 36 cm thick; K98 soil foundation layer 30 cm thick; roadbed is tightly paved with land.
Other items such as: Provincial and vertical drainage system; sidewalks; median strips; trees; technical cages; cross-section and intersection joints; lighting system; traffic safety system - are built synchronously, modernly, ensuring current standards.
On April 19, Thai Nguyen province held the inauguration ceremony of the Ring Road 5 project in Phu Binh district after more than 3 years of implementation.
The project has a total capital of nearly 700 billion VND, invested by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Traffic and Agricultural Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The route has a total length of 6.68 km, an average road surface width of 22.5 m connecting Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang provinces. This is a section of the more than 330 km long route passing through 8 localities with a total investment of VND 86,000 billion.
In the 2021-2025 period, this route is a level II road, 4 lanes and a 6-lane urban road. In the next phase, when there are enough investment resources and transportation needs, the 5-lane Ring Road will be invested in the scale of a 6-lane expressway by building an elevated expressway or a regular road.
