On January 12, a representative of the Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit had organized the first handover of the site for an area of more than 3.5 hectares (on the bank of Tra Khuc River) for the joint venture contractor to approach and organize the site for the construction of the anti-erosion embankment project and landscape restoration on the south bank of Tra Khuc River (Section from Tra Khuc 1 Bridge to Tam Thuong Wharf).
This project was approved in October 2023, with a total investment of 380 billion VND, of which the central budget allocated 265 billion VND and the remaining amount from the Quang Ngai provincial budget. The project is invested by the Quang Ngai Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, and will be implemented within 18 months.

The project is invested in construction with the goal of preventing landslides to both embellish and create land to expand the space for building riverside parks; establish public spaces, entertainment - recreation to serve people and contribute to creating momentum for urban development in Quang Ngai.
According to the reporter, for decades, the project site has been very shabby, with overgrown vegetation and garbage strewn everywhere, not only polluting the environment but also making the urban landscape ugly. Therefore, when the project was implemented, the people were very sympathetic and supportive.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Trieu, resident of Nghia Dong commune, Quang Ngai city, expressed: "In the past few days, seeing machines leveling trees and grass to implement the project, everyone is very excited. After the project is completed, it will create a clean and beautiful urban landscape, create an open space, make Quang Ngai city more beautiful, promote socio-economic development...".

According to the plan, before Tet, the contractor will only implement the items of the embankment project encroaching on the riverbed. The entire Ba To flower garden and neighboring roads will be kept in their original state to organize Tet decorations and serve the people to enjoy the spring. It is expected that by February 10 (ie January 13), the entire Ba To flower garden will be handed over to the contractor to implement the items according to the design.
According to the reporter's records on the morning of January 12, the contractors used many excavators, divided into many construction teams to clear bushes and trees at the handed-over locations. In the next few days, the work of preparing the ground to gather equipment, materials and set up a command post and service roads to organize the construction will be carried out.
According to the design, the project will build a new 1.2km embankment running around and "encroaching" on the riverbed (from Tra Khuc 1 bridge to Tam Thuong wharf - adjacent to Truong Sa street); renovate the entire landscape of the area; renovate the existing Ba To flower garden and invest in a riverside park on the northern section of Ton Duc Thang - Ba Trieu street.
Constructing new works with modern designs to create highlights; setting up parking lots, trees, landscape lighting and auxiliary works. Notably, constructing new works with a hemispherical light highlight cluster and a boat-shaped observation deck extending out to the Tra Khuc River, and expanding Ton Duc Thang and Ba Trieu streets.
