In early November, the construction atmosphere on Nhac Son Street (Lao Cai Ward) became vibrant. Along the route, many workers and machines are working continuously to keep up with the progress.
Through research, this is a project to renovate and upgrade the main road leading to Kim Thanh Border Gate area, invested by the Lao Cai - Coc San Construction Investment Project Management Board, with a total investment of 67 billion VND.
The construction unit is Phuc Binh Company Limited, implemented in the period of 2025-2026.
According to the design, the route is nearly 3km long, expanded to about 10.5m, installing a drainage system, ensuring traffic safety.
At the time of recording, workers were deploying the application of stone clearing, sewer installation and traffic diversion.
When completed, Nhac Son Street will help synchronize traffic infrastructure, connecting the central area with neighboring wards, thereby reducing traffic congestion on the often crowded Hoang Lien route.
Mr. Nguyen Van Loi (residing in Lao Cai ward) shared: "The old road is narrow, and when crowded, it often causes traffic jams. Now seeing the project being expanded systematically, people are very happy, everyone hopes to complete it soon to make travel more convenient".
Speaking to reporters, a representative of Phuc Binh Company Limited said: The unit is mobilizing more human resources and means to speed up construction, striving to complete it in 2026. During the implementation process, we pay special attention to quality, ensuring safety and minimizing the impact on people on both sides of the route".
Mr. Ha Van Son - an officer of the Supervisory Consulting Center (Lao Cai Department of Construction) - said: "We are regularly present at the site to coordinate with the investor and contractor to accept and urge the contractor to ensure the progress of the set plan. The project started in May 2025, and the current progress has reached about 10%, expected to be completed by August 2026".
According to Lao Cai Ward People's Committee, the Nhac Son road renovation project not only contributes to completing traffic infrastructure but also opens up a new look for the central urban area.
When the route is completed, people will directly benefit from the spacious, synchronous infrastructure, serving socio-economic development, tourism and services.
