On the afternoon of October 22, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province and leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches inspected the progress of the investment project to build the Golden Canal Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge, connecting the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hai Phong city.
The investment project to build the Golden Canal Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge is invested by the Management Board of the Traffic and Agricultural Project of Bac Ninh Province No. 2, with a total length of nearly 13.4km, of which the bridge length is 743m; the total investment is nearly 2,200 billion VND. The project will be implemented from 2021 - 2027.
However, the construction progress and project disbursement still face many difficulties, mainly due to problems in site clearance (GPMB); lack of construction materials and the impact of weather in the past.
In Bac Ninh province, there are still more than 7,000 m2 of agricultural land; nearly 12,800 m2 of public land and more than 2,800 m2 of land of 12 households in Tao Hoa village (Trung Kenh commune) that have not yet approved the compensation plan (due to being under the 500kV power line).
Hai Phong city, still stuck with more than 10,000 m2, including residential land of 24 households and some locations in the 110kV power grid corridor...
After directly inspecting the project site and listening to the opinions of departments, branches, localities, investors, and construction contractors, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Vuong Quoc Tuan assigned the Director of the Traffic and Agricultural Project Management Board of Bac Ninh province No. 2 to closely coordinate with construction contractors to urgently review and re- shape the construction organization plan.
In particular, calculating to increase human resources, equipment, speed up progress along the entire route, ensuring compensation for the volume that has been slow in the past time.
Regarding the site clearance work, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan seriously criticized Trung Kenh commune and the investor for not being resolute in implementing it, allowing the problems to persist.
Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan requested that from now until November 30, 2025, it is necessary to focus on completing the site clearance work for the remaining 12 households in Trung Kenh commune.
Regarding the case of 24 households in Hai Phong city that have not yet handed over the site, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested the Management Board of the Traffic and Agricultural Project of Bac Ninh province No. 2 to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue a document to the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to coordinate and direct strongly, speed up site clearance work so that by the end of 2025, the site can be handed over for construction.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requested relevant units to focus on speeding up the construction progress, ensuring the basic completion of the entire project by June 2026.
The early operation of the project will contribute significantly to connecting infrastructure, promoting the socio-economic development of the province and neighboring areas.
