Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Diep - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Khanh Hoa province shared about the current situation of some provincial-level scientific research topics that have been completed but some places have not reported their application into practice.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Diep informed that recently the inspection agency pointed out a number of issues regarding the management of tasks and the applicability of scientific and technological tasks (scientific topics).
Ms. Diep added that there are currently two forms of approving science and technology tasks. The first is to propose tasks from the grassroots level when there is a practical need, in line with the local socio-economic development orientation. The second form is that the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches "order" scientists and research groups.
Regardless of the form, upon completion, the Department of Science and Technology always provides clear information about the addresses (departments, sectors, localities) to apply these scientific topics.
Ms. Diep admitted that in practice, some units do not send reports on the results of applying scientific topics to the Department of Science and Technology.
In addition, there are some scientific topics that have "delays" in scientific research. Therefore, the Department also assigned specialized units to review all topics in the past time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha - Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee added that in the coming time, when the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications merge, the requirements for science, technology and digital transformation will be very large.
From there, local leaders directed departments to strictly inspect and review the above tasks.
Inspection of 5 scientific topics found shortcomings
In 2022-2023, the total number of Science and Technology tasks (topics) to be implemented is 56, including 25 topics that have been settled, accepted and put into application and 31 topics that are being implemented.
The Inspection Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province inspected 5 projects that had been finalized and accepted, and the results showed that there were some shortcomings and deficiencies. Among them, many projects had their results recognized, but some departments and branches had not reported on their implementation into practice.
For example, the topic "Innovation, improvement of quality, effectiveness of application and development of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought in the new situation in Khanh Hoa province" (2019-2021), cost more than 980 million VND.
Similar to the topic "Investigation, assessment, determination of causes and proposal of solutions to stabilize river mouths and coastal waters of Khanh Hoa province" implemented by the South Central Hydrometeorological Station with a budget of 1.3 billion VND (2020-2022); the topic "Application of intravascular ultrasound technique in intervention of complex coronary artery lesions" chaired by Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital (2019-2022, budget of nearly 1 billion VND)...
