On the afternoon of November 8, Mr. Vo Sy Tung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Kiet commune, Dak Lak province - confirmed that local leaders and the provincial authorities have just inspected the area of the No. 2 residential bridge on the route to H'Mong hamlet. This bridge has just been swept away by floodwaters, causing traffic disruption.
In recent days, the commune has had prolonged heavy rain, causing the No. 2 residential bridge in H'Mong village to be swept away by floodwaters, disrupting people's travel.
After checking the scene, the sewer section adjacent to the bridge abutment inside and the sewer section in the middle, about 15m long and 3m wide, were swept away. The entire embankment to the bridge was seriously eroded, the bridge railing was damaged about 50%.
The incident caused the H'Mong residential area to be isolated from the commune center. Some other rural traffic routes in the area were also eroded and had damaged road surfaces.

Mr. Vo Sy Tung said that to fix the problem, Ea Kiet commune has proposed to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Construction to consider temporarily lending 3 iron bridge girders to construct the temporary steel bridge surface, ensuring traffic for 174 households (705 people) of H'Mong village, which is isolated.
At the same time, this also helps serve 129 other households in the village with fields and production land in the inner area.
In addition, Ea Kiet commune proposed that the Provincial People's Committee support about 2.5 billion VND to build a temporary bridge to serve the travel and production needs of the people before implementing investment in building a new bridge.
