On the afternoon of October 28, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper noted that in addition to the landslide in Phan Son commune, there were a number of other landslides on Dai Ninh Pass (National Highway 28B).
The authorities have put up warning signs in high-risk areas and deployed forces to be on duty to promptly handle arising incidents.
Authorities are still focusing on overcoming the landslides. However, after many days of heavy rain, the rocks and soil have become water-filled, so the risk of landslides recurring is still very high.
Previously, on the afternoon of October 27, heavy rain caused a landslide at km45, in Phan Son commune, near the top of Dai Ninh Pass (Lam Dong province). The landslide lasted for tens of meters, completely burying both sides of the road, causing hundreds of vehicles to be congested.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties. Project Management Board No. 5 (Vietnam Road Administration) mobilized machinery to the scene to fix the problem.
