Urgently evacuate 13 households due to land cracks near residential areas in Son La

    Son La - On July 31, a large crack appeared near a residential area in Co Dau village, Nam Ty commune, and local authorities evacuated 13 households to safety.

    Mr. Duong Hong Quang - Chairman of Nam Ty Commune People's Committee said that due to the impact of heavy rain in the past few days, the Nuong hill area in Co Dau village has a large crack, about 50m long, about 40cm deep, with a potential risk of serious landslides.

    Immediately after discovering the incident, Nam Ty Commune People's Committee established a working group to inspect the scene, urgently evacuating 13 households with 63 people from the dangerous area, ensuring safety.

    "Currently, the commune is still experiencing rain, the People's Committee of the commune has directed forces to be on duty 24/7, closely monitoring developments in the area with cracks to promptly respond, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property" - Mr. Quang said.
