Thanh Lang Temple and Communal House was built more than 300 years ago. This is an ancient architectural work, located on an area of nearly 3,300 square meters; the campus and landscape are beautiful, the architectural scale is in the traditional style, with a T-shaped shape, a roof with a curved roof, two front halls and a back hall consisting of 8 rooms.
Previously, Thanh Lang communal house and temple were also the place for revolutionary activities of the Party, government and people during the period of resistance against French colonialism. With its historical and cultural values, in 2011, Thanh Lang communal house and temple were recognized as a national relic and a place for spiritual and cultural activities of the people.
However, after many years, without timely restoration and embellishment, many items of the communal house and temple are seriously degraded.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, at Thanh Lang communal house; the tiled roof is skewed; many pillars and beams are severely damaged by termites; the walls are moldy and have cracks. Right at the entrance of the communal house, many doors are broken; inside, iron and bolts must be used to support and secure the doors to prevent intruders. Located in the same area as the communal house, Thanh Lang temple is also in a state of disrepair.
Mr. Le Van Tien - Head of Thanh Lang village (Minh Hoa commune, Hung Ha district) - said that 15 years ago, from socialized sources, the government and local people repaired and upgraded Thanh Lang communal house and temple. Up to now, after a period of time, many items have expired; especially the roof, which leaks and becomes moldy due to wind and rain. Beams, columns, and rafters are rotten and have a lot of termites.
"This ancient communal house and temple are very valuable historical and cultural relics, and have been preserved by local people for many years. We and the people hope that authorities at all levels will pay attention to promptly renovating and restoring the degraded items," said Mr. Tien.
