Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee has just distributed more than 2,800 tons of rice (free of charge) from the national reserve to communes and wards to support 19,565 households with 92,327 people during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year and the pre-harvest period at the beginning of 2026.
Specifically, for support during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Dien Bien province allocated more than 544 tons of rice. During the pre-harvest period at the beginning of 2026, the amount of rice allocated is more than 2,280 tons.
Some localities have a large number of people in need of support during the pre-harvest period, including: Muong Lay ward more than 330 tons, Muong Nhe commune more than 158 tons, Muong Nha commune more than 150 tons and Na Son commune more than 146 tons.
Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee requests that the time to complete the delivery and receipt of rice support for the Lunar New Year must be completed no later than February 13 (ie December 26 of the lunar calendar). For rice support during the pre-harvest period, the distribution must be completed before March 20, 2026.
