Dien Bien province will spend 6.4 billion VND to streamline its staff with 35 employees retiring early and quitting immediately.

Recently, Mr. Le Thanh Do - Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, signed a decision approving the list and budget for the first phase of staff streamlining in 2025. Accordingly, 35 civil servants and public employees currently working at agencies, units and localities in Dien Bien province will be streamlined.

The Decision clearly states that heads of agencies, units, and localities must be responsible for the results of streamlining the payroll of the agencies, units, and localities they are directly assigned to manage.

Accordingly, 17 of the downsized staff retired early; 18 of the downsized staff quit their jobs immediately. The cost to downsize 35 staff was more than 6.4 billion VND.

The reason for streamlining is that in the previous year, the quality was classified as completing the task or not completing the task, the individual voluntarily performed the streamlining and was approved by the direct management agency.

Some personnel are redundant due to restructuring of civil servants according to job positions, but cannot be arranged for other jobs; have not achieved the training level according to the professional and technical standards prescribed for the job position they are holding, but there is no other suitable job position to arrange and cannot be arranged for retraining, individuals voluntarily implement staff streamlining.

Previously, the Party Committee of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 480 on the orientation of implementing the task of summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW and rearranging the organizational apparatus of agencies and units in the province.

According to the orientation on arrangement and streamlining, Dien Bien province will reduce 5 provincial-level professional agencies, 2 district-level professional agencies and 31 public service units.
