According to PV's investigation, in the content of the draft adjustment plan, Dien Bien province sets a goal to become a fairly developed province in the midland and mountainous areas of the North by 2030.
To achieve this goal, the economic growth rate (GRDP) for the period 2021-2030 must reach 10-11%/year. Economic structure by 2030, the service sector accounts for about 59.45%.
Notably, the province sets a target that by 2030, GRDP per capita strives to reach over 115 million VND, while labor productivity will reach 193 million VND; the goal is to reduce the average poverty rate by 3%/year or more.
The draft also emphasizes that sustainable poverty reduction is associated with socio-economic development, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Prioritize fundamentally solving the situation of housing and production land shortage for ethnic minorities.

In addition, the planning adjustment focuses on 4 breakthrough stages, including: Completing mechanisms and policies, improving provincial competitiveness; completing the socio-economic infrastructure system; developing tourism into a key economic sector. At the same time, promoting the application of science and technology associated with improving the quality of human resources.
In which, tourism will develop into a spearhead economic sector based on 3 main pillars: Historical - spiritual tourism (Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Relic Complex); national cultural identity, nature exploration; resort, entertainment, high-quality health care.
Along with that, Dien Bien province also advocates researching proposals to upgrade the Airport from standard level 3C to international airport level 4E after 2030.

The goal is to strive to 2030, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates will reach over 55%. Attach importance to developing high-quality human resources, associated with training scientific and technical teams, technical workers to meet development requirements. Tens of thousands of new jobs are expected to be created through industrial space development planning.
In the period up to 2030, 1 industrial park with a scale of 100 ha will be formed and 15 industrial clusters with a total area of nearly 389 ha will be developed. The commercial service sector is also oriented to develop modernly to create jobs, connect production and consumption.
