Dien Bien - Functional forces mobilize each household not to take advantage of roadsides to dry rice and agricultural products.

Entering the harvest season, the situation of people using roadbeds and sidewalks to dry and stockpile agricultural products poses a potential risk of traffic unsafety.

These days, Dien Bien province is entering the time of harvesting many types of agricultural products.

On some national highways, inter-village and inter-hamlet roads, people use roadbeds and sidewalks to dry rice, corn and other agricultural products.

Drying agricultural products on the road not only affects aesthetics and public order but also narrows the road for vehicles, posing a risk of traffic accidents, especially in crowded traffic areas.

Faced with the above reality, Tuan Giao Commune Police strengthened patrols and inspections, and at the same time went to villages to propagate and mobilize people not to use roadbeds, sidewalks and traffic safety corridors to dry and stockpile agricultural products.

Through propaganda, the Police force mobilized 136 households living along national highways and inter-village and inter-hamlet roads to sign commitments not to encroach on traffic safety corridors.

According to Article 12 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, the act of drying paddy, rice, straw, rice paddy, agricultural, forestry, seafood or placing a rice thresher on roads may be fined from 200,000-250,000 VND.

The act of placing obstacles, illegal objects or pouring substances causing traffic unsafety may be fined 6-8 million VND.

Tuan Giao Commune Police said they will continue to propagate, patrol, control and handle cases of intentional violations, contributing to ensuring traffic safety during the harvest season.
