Key project nearly 8,600 billion VND
The investment project to build Ring Road 2 section Tan Vu - Hung Dao - Bui Vien has a construction scale of the road from Tan Vu - Hung Dao - Bui Vien intersection with a total length of about 11 km, including the main items of building the section from Tan Vu - Hai Thanh bridge intersection and the Hung Dao - Bui Vien road section with a base width of 37 m, a road surface of 8 lanes in the middle and a median strip of 5 m wide; building the section from road 353 - Hung Dao with a base width of 68 m, a road surface of 8 lanes on both sides, a median strip of 23 m, sidewalks on both sides (2x7.5 m).
The project also builds Hai Thanh bridge over the Lach Tray River with a bridge length of about 1,133.6 m, design load HL93, navigation dimensions of 50x9.5 m. At the same time, build a bridge over Bui Vien intersection about 327.45m long, bridge cross-section 25 m wide including 8 spans of Supper-T girders, design load HL93; build 2 branch bridges with each branch bridge length of about 156.2 m, connected to the spans that have been constructed and are currently waiting at Tan Vu intersection, bridge width 8.25m, including 6 spans of continuous prestressed reinforced concrete girders.

The project also expands Nguyen Truong To street and Bui Vien street from the National Highway 10 intersection to the Ring Road 2 intersection with a total length of about 10.4 km to increase traffic flow on the route and reduce the risk of traffic unsafety.
The project is implemented in Hai An, Hung Dao, Kien An, An Hai, An Duong and An Phong wards with a total investment of 8,593.119 million VND from the city budget. Implementation time from 2021-2028. The project is expected to complete the city's urban infrastructure framework system, contributing to building a modern city. The route also shortens the journey, reduces the travel time from Hai Phong seaport area: Hai Phong port, Chua Ve port, Dinh Vu port, Hai Phong International Gateway port in Lach Huyen... along National Highway 5, National Highway 10 and provincial roads to transport goods and passengers to provinces and cities; bringing economic efficiency to businesses, promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security of the city.
Striving to assemble Hai Thanh bridge in the second quarter
On the last afternoon of the year, hundreds of workers are enthusiastically working at the project construction site on the section from the inter-ward road intersection to the end of the Hai Thanh overpass intersection (package No. 20). Mr. Vu Van Cuong, representative of the Hai Phong Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, said that from October 2025, after receiving the entire site, contractors have focused manpower and resources to construct the project. On peak days, there are nearly 1,000 workers at the construction site, working day, night, and day off.

By January 2026, the contractor will complete 469/520 bored piles; 28/42 abutments; 15/36 girder spans cast on scaffolding; 240/240 35x35 pressed pile centers of box walls behind M0 abutments; 143/240 35x35 pressed pile centers of box walls behind M29 abutments. Regarding road construction, construction units excavate roadbeds, fill roadbeds with sand, complete cement reinforcement soil piles. Mr. Mai Thanh Binh - Khang Nguyen contractor said that after more than 4 months of focusing hundreds of workers and many equipment and machinery, constructing in 3 shifts, 4 teams, the volume of the bidding package is estimated to reach 55%. The unit strives to complete the Hai Thanh bridge in April, and complete the bidding package in May and June 2026.
Also according to a representative of the Hai Phong Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, in addition to difficulties in materials, equipment, and techniques, the project is facing difficulties in manpower (labour shortage). Therefore, in addition to ensuring labor safety and hygiene, the Management Board also requests contractors to ensure the lives of workers, especially during the Lunar New Year. Thereby, encouraging workers to return to work after Tet, ensuring project progress.
