According to the reporter's actual records, starting from the afternoon of April 29, all 3 flat valve gates of the Cao Bang city dam system have been closed, causing the water level from Bang Giang bridge to the foot of Hoang Nga bridge to rise significantly.
Raising water levels makes boating activities on the river more convenient, while creating conditions for organizing experimental art programs on the river, bringing people a new space for entertainment and sightseeing.

According to the plan, there will be about 2-3 small boats per day to bring artists to perform Then singing and musical instruments right on the river.
This is the first time this traditional art form has been performed on water in Cao Bang, creating a new and attractive experience for local people as well as tourists.
Mr. Nong Dinh Quang (residing in Trung Khanh district) shared: "Today, I took my wife and children to the city to play during a big holiday, and happened to experience taking a boat to listen to the Then singing on the river, everyone was very excited, especially the children".

In a conversation with reporters, Mr. Quang expressed his agreement with the policy of building a dam to raise water, saying that this project has contributed to significantly changing the appearance of the central area of Cao Bang city.
Although the project is still in the process of completion, the initial results have shown many positive signals. People hope that in the coming time, the provincial leaders will have further investment steps to help activities on the Bang Giang River become more organized and effective.

Previously, in May 2023, the People's Council of Cao Bang province passed Resolution No. 20, approving the investment policy for the Cao Bang city dam construction project, with a total investment of 150 billion VND.
The objective of the project is to offer and stabilize the Bang river water level (also known as Bang Giang River), create urban landscapes for the downtown area, while serving the needs of exploiting surface water for daily life and production in riverside areas.
After completion, the dam will create a spacious water surface, contributing to climate regulation, improving the ecological environment, and developing services and tourism on the river and on both banks.
This project also helps reduce the river water level fluctuation range, stabilize river banks, reduce flow rate and limit landslides.

The flat valve will regulate the water level during the dry season and return the flood drainage aperture to the natural river level, ensuring the ability to drain floodwater during the rainy season.
Along with the construction of the dam system, the Bang Giang riverbed is also being actively dredged and cleared to beautify the landscape, ensuring good traffic flow, ready for water raising when the dam comes into official operation.
