According to the actual records of the reporter, the construction of the water-uppass is part of package No. 16 in the Cao Bang City Water-uppass construction project.
It is known that around May 2023, the People's Council of Cao Bang province issued Resolution No. 20 approving the investment policy for this project.
The investment goal of the project is to raise and stabilize the water level for the Bang River, create a landscape in the city center and facilitate the exploitation of surface water for production and daily life in the riverside area.
After the dam is built, it will create an open, spacious water surface space to regulate the climate, improve the ecological environment, develop services, tourism on the river and on both sides of the river.
Reduce the increase and decrease the river water level, increase the stability of river banks, reduce flow rate, and minimize landslides.
The project will regulate water levels in the dry season by using flat valve gates and returning flood drainage aperture almost to the natural river, ensuring flood drainage capacity. Operated by a hydraulic equipment system to lift and lower the valve door, the total width of the compartment with the valve door is expected to be about 60m.
The project belongs to group B project with a total investment of 150 billion VND from the local budget supplemented by development investment expenditure invested by the Cao Bang City Investment and Construction Project Management Board. The dam was built in Tan Giang ward, Cao Bang city. The implementation period is from 2023 to 2025.
On March 23, the reporter noted that at the construction site, dozens of workers and machines were working busily to keep up with the assigned progress. 3/4 of the main pillars of the dam system have taken shape.
"The dam will perform well the function of flood drainage, avoiding flooding, thereby helping to stabilize the lives of people along both sides of the river" - Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quan (Tan Giang ward) shared.
In addition, people living next to the project also hope that wastewater treatment and ecological environment plans when the dam is put into operation need to be carefully calculated and considered.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Duc Truong - Vice Chairman of Cao Bang City People's Committee - said that the project with a comprehensive architecture and modern details with its unique beauty will become a highlight on the Bang Giang River section passing through the city center.
The locality is also developing plans to turn this place into a sightseeing and entertainment destination for people and tourists, contributing to improving the quality of life of the people".
According to the project investor's representative, the construction volume of the project has reached over 80%, and the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee is currently assigning a project schedule to be completed by the 30.4/4.5 holiday, so contractors need to speed up the construction progress.
The Cao Bang City Water Supply Dam project is constructed by a consortium of 5 contractors: Tien Dat Construction Company Limited - AVICO Vietnam Joint Stock Company - MAKAWA Technology Equipment Company Limited - Dong Tam Mechanical Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - INTEC Industrial Technology Joint Stock Company. According to data published in the project, the project started on July 20, 2024 and will be completed in March 2025.
