On the morning of November 13, Military Region 5 held a conference to assign tasks to forces participating in a joint rescue exercise with the armies of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.

In order to implement the plan to participate in the joint search and rescue exercise of the armies of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, recently, Military Region 5 has coordinated with agencies under the Ministry of National Defense to guide agencies and units to do well in preparation work; organize domestic training before participating in the exercise in Cambodia.

Military Region 5 will participate in a joint exercise with the Cambodian and Laotian armies in Kampong Chnang province, Cambodia, including the following contents: Actions of rescue teams on duty to respond to collapsed structures; Level 1 and 2 field hospitals, participating in classifying victims according to the levels of light, moderate and severe injuries; receiving, rescuing, caring for, treating and transporting victims by emergency vehicles, including transport by helicopter; joint physical training, training in carrying full weapons and equipment.

Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, Commander of Military Region 5, emphasized that this is not only to carry out the defense foreign affairs mission of the Vietnam People's Army in general and Military Region 5 in particular, but also to represent the image and position of the nation and people. Therefore, each soldier must clearly define his ideology and responsibility, grasp his mission, strive to complete all assigned tasks; strictly comply with regulations in foreign affairs; organize mobile forces to participate in performing tasks in neighboring countries closely, thoughtfully, and ensure absolute safety in all aspects. Through this exercise, it contributes to further strengthening the solidarity and friendship between the three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, spreading the good image of revolutionary soldiers and the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period. According to the plan, the joint exercise will take place from November 17 to November 25, 2024.
