Streamlining the apparatus, Ho Chi Minh City merges 3 important Steering Committees

Ho Chi Minh City has just decided to merge the three Steering Committees on administrative reform, digital transformation and Project 06 into a single committee to improve operational efficiency.

On November 18, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai signed a decision to establish the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, Digital Transformation and Project 06 (referred to as the Steering Committee), marking an important step in streamlining the organization and optimizing resources.

The new Steering Committee consists of 38 members, headed by Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai.

Two Vice Chairmen of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Mr. Vo Van Hoan and Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, assumed the role of Permanent Deputy Heads of the Committee.

The Steering Committee also has three Deputy Heads in charge of specific areas.

Administrative reform: In charge of Director of Department of Home Affairs Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan.

Digital transformation: In charge of Director of Department of Information and Communications Lam Dinh Thang.

Project 06: In charge of Ho Chi Minh City Police Director Le Hong Nam.

Members of the Steering Committee also include leaders of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Justice, the Digital Transformation Center, and representatives of departments, branches, the City Party Committee's Organization Board, the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Board, and the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council.

The Steering Committee is assigned to research and propose contents, programs and plans suitable to the characteristics of the city and current legal regulations.

Direct, guide and inspect the implementation of administrative reform, digital transformation and Project 06 at departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and Thu Duc City.

Urge units to remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process, ensuring the highest efficiency.

Every quarter, the standing agencies including the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Information and Communications, and Ho Chi Minh City Police must synthesize and report on the situation, propose solutions or submit to competent authorities to promptly handle arising issues.

In addition, monitor and propose the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements and criticize and handle collectives and individuals with violations and weaknesses in assigned tasks.
