On November 18, the Center for Rescue, Conservation and Development of Life, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Quang Tri province) said that it had received a rare Mien Dien Flower Reindeer voluntarily handed over by people in Cua Tung commune.
Previously, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Cua Tung commune (Quang Tri province), the Center representative coordinated with the Vinh Linh Forest Protection Department to carry out procedures to receive the bird from the People's Committee of the commune. The above-mentioned Myanmar Flower Kite was discovered by Mr. Vo Hoang Viet, residing in An Duc 1 village, when he flew into a house in an injured state.

According to Mr. Viet, the bird could not fly and showed signs of weakness, so he temporarily took care of it and reported it to the authorities for handover according to regulations. At the time of receiving the bird, the individual weighed about 1.7kg, was physically weak, had broken feathers and tail feathers.
Veterinary staff of the Rescue Center checked his health, treated the wound and took him to the isolation area for care. The unit said that the bird individual will be nurtured, recovered, and trained to adapt before considering releasing it back into the natural environment.
