On June 30, a working delegation of the General Department of Politics (GPD) led by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of GPD, Member of the National Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains (National Steering Committee) led the delegation to inspect and encourage forces implementing the "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains" at Le Thi Rieng Park.


Receiving the delegation were Major General Tran Chi Tam, Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 7, Head of the Military Region's Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains; Major General Nguyen Thanh Trung, City Party Committee Member, Political Commissar of the City Command.
Reporting directly at the scene, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Command said that the "Operation 500 Days and Nights" is being carried out extremely strictly, in accordance with professional procedures. Functional forces have focused maximum machinery and manpower to conduct zoning of suspected martyrs' graves.
Despite facing unfavorable weather, huge workload and terrain changes compared to before, officers and soldiers still closely followed the scene. Everyone worked with the highest determination to not miss any valuable clues or traces.

Through closely following the reality, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh praised the spirit of overcoming difficulties of the forces directly performing tasks, as well as the smooth coordination between Military Region 7 and the city government. Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh affirmed that the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains is a particularly sacred political task, expressing deep gratitude to the generation of fathers and brothers who fell for the independence and peace of the Fatherland.
The Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics requested units to continue to stick to the grassroots level, closely coordinate with localities, carefully review historical sources and witnesses to determine the correct excavation location. The construction process must ensure absolute safety for both people and vehicles, be cautious and persistent in each operation. In addition, commanders at all levels need to do a good job of ideological work, encouraging soldiers to firmly overcome difficulties and excellently complete the campaign.

During the working trip, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh and leaders of Military Region 7 and the Ho Chi Minh City Command presented many gifts, cordially inquired and encouraged the spirit of soldiers who are sticking to perform their duties at the park.
