Historically, this was an important gateway for revolutionary forces to access, deploy campaigns and supply; and at the same time, it was a key defense line that the enemy focused firepower on to prevent. In the period 1967-1975, many fierce battles of local guerrillas and key units such as: Division 7, Division 9, Regiment 201, Division 302 with the enemy took place here. Therefore, many cadres and soldiers bravely sacrificed in the resistance war against the US for national salvation on this land.

The area where martyrs' remains were discovered is located on the Northwest slope of high point 74, Dong Dau hamlet, Minh Duc commune. The North borders Minh Tam hamlet, the West borders Binh Minh hamlet, the East borders Binh Long ward, and the South borders Tan Khai ward. Historically, this area has been the place where many battles of our army ambushing enemy motorized vehicles, tanks, and armored vehicles took place and was the center of the "Search and Blockade of Minh Duc" raid by the US-Republic of Vietnam military junta in November 1969.
