On March 11, Mr. Pham Hoang Son - Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with relevant departments and branches to urge the implementation of projects to overcome flooding and waterlogging in Bac Giang ward.
According to the report at the working session, Bac Giang ward is implementing the Project to build, renovate and upgrade the drainage system, approved in the decision dated November 15, 2021, with a total investment of more than 183 billion VND.
Currently, the project has been adjusted to reduce some items.
For the construction package, the contractor has deployed construction volumes of about over 51 billion VND, equivalent to 52% of the contract value.
On November 15, 2025, the investor and the construction contractor agreed to sign a record of termination of the construction contract.
Construction package No. 2 has been posted for bidding on the national bidding system, but no contractors participated.
At the working session, representatives of the Civil and Urban Development Project Management Board No. 1 reported preliminarily on the plan to build a box culvert system from 3/2 Square to drainage pumping stations to overcome flooding and waterlogging in Bac Giang ward.
Representatives of departments, branches, units, and localities focused on exchanging and discussing plans to overcome the flooding situation in Bac Giang ward.
Concluding the working session, Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son emphasized that the work of treating urban drainage flooded and submerged is an urgent task that needs to be implemented immediately.
The Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to work with relevant units to hand over infrastructure related to wastewater drainage to the Urban Drainage Pumping Center as the focal point for managing and operating the systems.
At the same time, advise on the organizational model and operation of the Urban Drainage Pumping Center to be suitable for reality to maximize efficiency.
With the motto of fundamentally and thoroughly resolving to ensure efficiency, calculating overall and not allowing waste to occur, the Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee assigned the Civil and Urban Development Project Management Board No. 1 to study in the direction that the drainage line of Minh Khai road can connect to the Van Son canal.
If necessary, it is possible to consult the opinions of experts and scientists to ensure that the plan is implemented scientifically and most effectively.
Regarding projects that have been and are still behind schedule, Mr. Pham Hoang Son requested the Civil and Urban Development Project Management Board No. 1 to urgently urge implementation to ensure the set schedule.
