In late May, present in Vinh Kien commune, Yen Binh district, Yen Bai province, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded the vibrant atmosphere at the construction site of the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Power Line at the VT260 pole foundation.
Here, workers are busy with the final stages to pour concrete for the holes, pole foundations, steel cutters, chassis pressers, and assemblies. Excavators are mobilized to dig foundation holes, and cranes are waiting to transport assembly materials, pour concrete, etc.
Talking to Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Duc Vuong - Technical Officer of Hanoi Joint Stock Company 1 said that in recent days, the weather in Yen Bai has been raining heavily, making construction implementation difficult.
Taking advantage of the free days, the unit is mobilizing maximum human resources and machinery to take advantage of the day and night of construction to complete the pouring of this VT260 pole foundation.

According to Mr. Vuong, the foundation of VT260 is adjacent to Chay River, near Thac Ba Hydropower Plant, mainly mud and temporary soil. Therefore, the construction needs to be implemented in detail and meticulously from the foundation. At the same time, it must be done synchronously and quickly because when it rains, muddy soil is very difficult to implement.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chien - Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Kien Commune, Yen Binh District, said that the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Line through the commune has 13 pole foundations from VT248 to VT260. Up to now, the locality has fully handed over the site for the pole foundation to the contractor.
Not far away, on a high hill, at the foundation of VT258 pole, workers are rushing to assemble the last pole abutments to erect the pole.

Seeing us, Mr. Vi Van Giang (in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province) - a construction worker of Song Da 11 Company, both working and happily sharing that the past few days of too much rain, now taking advantage of the opportunity, the brothers focus on human resources and machinery to assemble to complete the construction of the VT258 pole.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ta Huu Tinh - Head of the National Assembly Delegation's Head of the 500kV Line Inspection and Control of Yen Binh District said that the Lao Cai - Vinh Yen 500kV Line Project, the section passing through the district, is over 50km long, with 91 pillar locations. The whole district has 1,191 households affected, of which 38 households had to relocate.
Up to now, the site of 91/91 pole locations has been handed over to the contractor for construction. Currently, the locality is speeding up the progress of site clearance for power grid safety corridors and completing a number of contents related to the planning of resettlement areas to implement the project.
In addition, the project is planned and paid to households to hand over the site, creating favorable conditions for the project to be completed before September.

Mr. Do Quang Khai, Deputy Director of Power Project Management Board 1, cum Director of the Executive Board of the 500KV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Line Project said that the contractors are currently proactive in solutions to ensure the proposed progress. At high hill -column foundations, at risk of landslides, the unit directs the contractor to formulate a safe plan for the rainy season.
"We are urging the contractor to try to complete all the foundation concrete on the entire route in early June to move to the stage of building poles and pulling ropes. Currently, 25 locations have been completed to erect poles, 36 locations are under construction; contractors are also speeding up the transportation of poles to foundation locations to be ready for installation as soon as conditions allow," Mr. Do Quang Khai added.
