The joy of people participating in wrapping banh tet
People, officials and soldiers sat together, some wrapped leaves, some kneaded sticky rice, some tied ropes, all rhythmically and warmly.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay, Tra Con commune, said that this is the second year she has participated in wrapping meaningful Tet cakes. "I feel very happy, because through this activity, people and soldiers are closer to each other, talking intimately like family members," Ms. Bay shared.

According to Mrs. Bay, each stage brings a feeling of excitement, from choosing leaves, rolling sticky rice to wrapping banh chung. Although simple, everyone does it with respect, because each banh chung is a feeling sent to make Tet more complete.
The atmosphere became even more bustling when many people from neighboring hamlets also took the opportunity to participate. Ms. Thach Thi Hoa, Tra Con commune, said that while going to the pagoda to perform the New Year ritual, she encountered activities and participated together.
Seeing that the people and soldiers were all happy, I went to make extra packs. While working and chatting, the atmosphere was very warm, like we were celebrating a big Tet of the community together," Ms. Hoa excitedly said.
Military and civilian forces join hands to wrap cakes ahead of schedule
Corporal Pham Hoang Duy - Engineer 25, Military Region 9 said that this is the first time he has participated in wrapping banh tet with local people. Although he has gone to many places to perform his duties, he is still surprised by the dedicated guidance of the people here.
People teach very carefully, from arranging the leaves to be closed, spreading the sticky rice evenly, to placing the filling and wrapping the banana string. I make many cakes, although not really beautiful, I feel the warmth and sincerity in each stage," Mr. Duy shared.
According to Mr. Duy, what impressed him the most was the atmosphere of solidarity between the army and the people. Each person does one thing but always supports each other, creating a working rhythm without distance, like a large family preparing to welcome Tet together.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hoa - Vice President of Vinh Long Provincial Women's Union said that the community banh tet wrapping activity is a highlight in the military-civilian Tet series associated with the Chol Chnam Thmay Tet of the Khmer people this year.
According to Ms. Hoa, the initial goal was to wrap about 600 banh chung, but thanks to the positive response of the force and people, the number has increased to more than 750 banh chung, exceeding the plan. This is the result of joint efforts and consensus in taking care of the spiritual life of the people during Tet.
Meaningful Tet cakes will be given to policy families, Khmer ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances, women's union members and families where soldiers are stationed, contributing to bringing a more fulfilling, warm and full of love Tet Chol Chnam Thmay," Ms. Hoa added.
