Phu Tho - Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document approving the plan to close the Red River sand mine in Ban Nguyen commune.

According to the document, the Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee has agreed to allow Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company to close the entire area of the Red River sand mineral mine of 24.44 ha. This area was previously licensed for exploitation under License No. 68/GP-UBND dated October 19, 2018 and No. 09/GP-UBND dated January 19, 2022.

The closure of the mine aims to bring the mining area back to a safe state, while protecting the unexploited mineral resources.

After completing the renovation and environmental restoration items, the enterprise will hand over the entire area to the Provincial People's Committee for management in accordance with land law and related regulations. The implementation time of the mine closure plan is 1 month from the date the document takes effect.

Along with that, all implementation costs are self-guaranteed by Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company.

After completion, the enterprise must prepare a report to the Phu Tho Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize inspection and acceptance according to regulations. For all contents in the mine closure plan, the enterprise must be responsible before the law for accuracy and implementation.

In addition, Thong Nhat JSC must also notify the People's Committee of Ban Nguyen commune to coordinate supervision, ensuring that the mine closure process takes place in accordance with regulations, contributing to limiting negative impacts on the environment and people's lives in the area.
