Efforts to exceed schedule
On the morning of November 28, Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) informed: At exactly 11:30 p.m. on November 27, EVNSPC coordinated with Dong Nai Power Company (PC Dong Nai) and related units to successfully energize Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport 110kV Transformer Station Project and connecting lines.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc - General Director of EVNSPC - said: According to the plan, the transformer station will be energized in the second quarter of 2025. With the spirit of "the electricity industry is one step ahead" under the direction of the Prime Minister, EVNSPC has set a higher plan of energizing in early 2025. However, with great efforts and determination of the construction force and leaders at all levels, the project was completed and energized earlier than the original target.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Duc, in order for the project to exceed the set schedule, EVNSPC and PC Dong Nai have coordinated with the locality to effectively carry out propaganda and mobilize people to hand over the site. "We are very grateful to the people in the project area who have contributed with the Corporation to complete the project on schedule," Mr. Duc shared.
Mr. Truong Hong Chinh - Chairman of Thien Phu Technical Trading and Consulting Joint Stock Company, the construction unit - said that the construction was carried out during the rainy season, and the project was located at the last location of the Long Thanh International Airport Project, so the movement and transportation of materials and equipment to the construction site encountered many difficulties, especially during long periods of rain and muddy roads... To meet the investor's schedule, the construction unit mobilized more personnel, overtime, working shifts, and working on weekends and nights to make up for the progress of unfavorable weather days. At peak times, there were always about 50 construction workers on site, not to mention the forces of testing, supervision, and acceptance units for power connection...
Participating in the experiment and calibrating the equipment to energize the Project, Mr. Le Khac Hung - Dong Nai High Voltage Grid Enterprise, PC Dong Nai - said that, realizing that this is a key project, the brothers participated enthusiastically and worked hard day and night. To meet the project's progress, the brothers ate and slept at the construction site, not afraid of difficulties and hardships to complete the assigned tasks on schedule.
Ensuring power supply for Long Thanh airport
According to EVNSPC, the Long Thanh Airport area is currently being supplied with electricity through two main lines: Line 479 Danh Du of the 110kV Binh Son station and 474 Xuan Duong of the 110kV Binh Son station and one backup line. These lines are connected to the grid to perform back and forth transmission when necessary.
The completed 110kV Long Thanh Airport transformer station will ensure safe, continuous and quality power supply for Long Thanh International Airport as soon as it comes into operation. In addition, the project also contributes to reducing the 22kV power supply radius, reducing losses, ensuring voltage quality, improving the reliability of power supply in neighboring areas, ensuring the N-1 criteria according to the policy of EVN and EVNSPC. In addition, PC Dong Nai is also upgrading the 110kV Long Thanh - My Xuan line to ensure long-term power supply for Long Thanh Airport.
In particular, to supply electricity to Long Thanh Airport construction units, Long Thanh Power Company (PC Dong Nai) has accepted and energized 26 distribution transformer stations with a total capacity of 17,995kVA. Of which, line 479 Danh Du supplies electricity to 19 transformer stations with a total capacity of 11,745kVA and line 474 Xuan Duong supplies electricity to 7 transformer stations with a total capacity of 6,250kVA. Therefore, construction activities at Long Thanh Airport construction site are always guaranteed a stable and continuous power supply.
The Long Thanh Airport 110kV Transformer Station and Connection Line Project started construction in June 2024 with a total investment of VND119 billion. In phase 1, 1 transformer with a total capacity of 40MVA and a 2-circuit line with a total length of 3.8km will be installed. In phase 2, 2 transformers with a capacity of 40MVA will be installed, increasing the total capacity to 80MVA, expected to be accepted and put into operation in the first quarter of 2025.
