For a long time, we have only heard about infrastructure investment projects having their capital increased and their time extended. Now, ACV has saved nearly 4,000 billion VND, which is really a good thing.
This shows that if you know how to do it, put all your heart into your work, and put efficiency first to optimize the process, you will save time and money. Preventing loss and waste is to start with specific tasks and have clear results.
The savings of nearly 4,000 billion VND should not be put in a drawer, but should be used to create greater benefits. According to ACV, this savings will make an important contribution to the investment in the second runway at Long Thanh airport phase 1. The investment cost of the second runway is fully balanced in the total investment of component project 3. This means that the investment cost does not increase but the capacity and operational efficiency of the airport increase, thereby improving the investment efficiency of the project.
The effectiveness of the project is not only to have an additional runway in phase 1 to increase operating capacity, but also has a very "advantageous" point, which is that in case the first runway of Long Thanh airport has a problem, there will be a second runway without having to transfer flights to Tan Son Nhat airport.
Obviously, if flights are transferred from Long Thanh airport to Tan Son Nhat, it will cause overload and damage to airlines as well as passengers, not to mention safety factors.
Furthermore, Long Thanh airport has two runways that will be completed soon to support Tan Son Nhat airport when needed.
Another good news is that the Tan Son Nhat airport T3 terminal project, after nearly 2 years of construction, is expected to be completed on April 30, 2025, two months ahead of schedule.
Projects that are completed ahead of schedule, save time and money, and put into operation early not only prevent waste but also increase benefits and efficiency for the economy.
From the story of nearly 4,000 billion VND saved by ACV at Long Thanh airport, we hope that from now on, many similar projects will appear.
It is time for investors whose projects are delayed or over budget to feel ashamed and lost. We must show them that the words "over budget", "late deadline", "underfunding" are no longer in their minds, no longer a shameful "habit" of individuals and organizations when implementing projects.
