simultaneously starting construction and inaugurating 250 works and projects to affirm Vietnam's position

On August 19, the inauguration ceremony and groundbreaking ceremony of projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) will take place in many localities with a total of 250 works and projects. This is a special event, affirming Vietnam's position, ready to enter a new era.

Of which, it is expected to inaugurate 89 projects, start 161 projects and works including 59 transport infrastructure projects; 44 civil - urban projects; 57 industrial projects; 36 technical infrastructure projects; 22 social housing projects, 6 agricultural and rural development projects; 3 cultural and sports projects; 12 educational projects; 1 national defense project; 10 health projects.

Of the 250 projects, there are 8 important national projects, 46 group A projects, 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects.

Among the projects and state capital, there are 129 projects with VND 478,000 billion, accounting for 37% of the total and 121 projects and works invested from other capital sources with VND 802,000 billion, accounting for 63% of the total (including 05 FDI projects with a capital of VND 54,000 billion).

HCMC starts construction of Tri An hydropower plant expansion

Exactly 40 years ago, the Tri An hydropower project started construction with financial and technological support from the Soviet Union. The project was officially inaugurated in 1991 with 4 generators, a total designed capacity of 400MW, and an average annual electricity output of more than 1.7 billion kWh.

After coming into operation, the Tri An hydropower project has contributed to providing energy for the socio-economic development of 16 southern provinces and cities, ensuring industrial and domestic water for millions of people, irrigation water for more than 20,000 hectares of rice fields and land in downstream areas. During the entire operation, the project has always ensured efficiency and safety.

To meet the increased consumer load demand and take advantage of the excess water released during the flood season every year, EVN has proposed investing in the Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project and was approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee in 2020.

The project has a total investment of nearly 4,000 billion VND, a total installed capacity of 200 MW, including 2 units, each with a capacity of 100 MW, after being put into operation, it will contribute to increasing the ability to mobilize capacity for loads in the Southern region. Thereby, helping to reduce production costs of the national power system; making the most of the flow capacity by limiting annual excess emissions; reducing CO2 emissions; reducing the intensity of work at existing plant complexes, prolonging equipment life...

Phu My Industrial Park expects to increase revenue for Gia Lai province

Phu My Industrial Park (IP) project phase 1 in Phu My Dong commune, Gia Lai is invested by Phu My Investment Group Joint Stock Company. The project has a scale of more than 436 hectares, a total investment of over VND 4,500 billion, an operating period of 70 years, oriented to develop a new energy industrial ecosystem including green hydrogen, green ammonia, LNG...; manufacturing and production industry in the renewable energy ecosystem; automobile assembly and production; oil product warehouse; supporting industry of electronics and data...

Phu My Industrial Park is expected to contribute to completing infrastructure, creating a favorable investment environment, attracting industrial production projects, shifting economic structure and increasing budget revenue for Gia Lai province.

The Phu My Port project has an area of about 205 hectares in Phu My Dong commune, expected to start construction in September 2026, complete and put into operation in October 2028. The port is directly connected to Phu My Industrial Park, serving the transportation of goods, supplies, equipment, containers, liquid/ air goods, etc., meeting the production and transportation needs of the Industrial Park, while promoting inter-regional transportation and developing maritime logistics.

It is forecasted that by 2030, the output of goods passing through Phu My Port will reach about 3.8 - 4.4 million tons/year, including liquid goods, general goods, containers, supplies, equipment, packaging, bulk goods and energy-specialized equipment. From 2028, the exploitation capacity is expected to reach 2.4 - 3.0 million tons/year for general goods, containers and about 1.4 million tons/year for liquid goods/air.

The implementation of Phu My Industrial Park and Phu My Port is a step to concretize the Provincial Planning for the period 2025 - 2030.

Quang Ninh develops production, meets national energy demand

The projects that TKV started on this occasion include the Ha Rang mine expansion tunnel exploitation project (Hon Gai Coal Company), with a capacity of 900,000 tons/year, with a total investment of about 1,413 billion VND; the Coc Sau - Deo Nai mine cluster exploitation project, with a capacity of 2.7 million tons/year, with a total investment of about 2,074 billion VND; the Tan Yen - Dong Trang Bach mine tunnel exploitation project, with a capacity of 0.45 million tons/year, with a total investment of about 1,111 billion VND; Nam Mau coal screening plant, with a capacity of 2.5 million tons/year, with a total investment of about 1,019 billion VND and the Nui Beo Joint Stock Company tunnel workers' apartment project, with a total investment of about 299 billion VND, with a scale of 398 rooms/person, deployed from 2025 to 2027.

These are key projects of TKV, which are of great significance in improving coal production, processing and supply capacity, meeting national energy demand, while contributing to modernizing the coal industry, improving working and living conditions for workers.

Notably, the Ha Rang mine expansion tunnel exploitation project is a continuation of the old Ha Rang mine, which has now completed coal mining at +50 ÷ -100m, located in Cao Xanh ward and Quang Hanh ward, Quang Ninh province.

Accordingly, Hon Gai Coal Company continues to invest in exploiting coal at a depth of -50 ÷ -250m, with an industrial reserve of 8.93 million tons of clean coal; the volume of raw coal converted is about 11.85 million tons.

Expectations to turn Ca Mau from a remote area into a strategic gateway

A series of strategic infrastructure projects are being urgently launched, hoping to create a boost for Ca Mau to transform from a remote locality to a strategic gateway to the sea.

The Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway Construction Investment Project is about 90km long, with a designed scale of 4 lanes, with continuous emergency lanes according to the standards of a grade 100 expressway, with a roadbed width of 24.75m. The total estimated investment is 57,896 billion VND.

To implement the Project, Ca Mau has reclaimed about 562 hectares of 3 organizations, 1,819 households and individuals with a total investment of about VND2,028 billion.

At the southernmost point of the country, a large deep-water seaport project is being launched, accelerating investment. That is the Hon Khoai Dual-use General Port Project built in Dat Mui commune with a scale of 1 1,000m long wharf, capacity of 20 million tons/year, can receive ships up to 250,000 DWT. Another item of the Project is dredging and opening a new channel about 5,000 m long, 230 m wide and a 800 m diameter train quay. The total investment of Hon Khoai Port is expected to be about 15,000 billion VND.

In order to synchronize with the Port, the Road to Hon Khoai Island Project (a road connecting from the mainland to Hon Khoai Port) will be invested in construction with a total investment of about VND 25,715 billion, with a design scale of 4 lanes according to the standards of a level 3 plain road, a design speed of 80km/h, and a road width of 16.5m.

Another key infrastructure project that has also started construction is the Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project with a total investment of about VND 2,400 billion, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV). According to the planning for the period 2021 - 2030, Ca Mau Airport will reach level 4C, with a capacity of 1 million passengers and 1,000 tons of cargo per year, receiving Code C aircraft (A320, A321 or equivalent). The project has an area of nearly 102 hectares and has been handed over the site on schedule.

On the local side benefiting from the above projects, Mr. Lam Van Bi - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province - said: The initiation of a series of projects is of special importance in developing strategic infrastructure, creating breakthroughs in economic development, firmly ensuring national defense and security, creating a new momentum for people in the southernmost part of the country, while opening up new development space, connecting conveniently, maximizing the potential and strengths of Ca Mau province.
