On November 27, information from the Bien Hoa City Land Fund Development Center said that it had announced a plan to reclaim land, investigate, survey, measure, and count to implement the project of dredging San Mau stream, the first section of the main stream branch, starting from Tan Hoa ward to Xom Mai bridge, Bien Hoa city (referred to as the San Mau stream dredging project).
Currently, the Bien Hoa City Land Fund Development Center is coordinating with the People's Committees of Tan Hoa, Tan Bien, Ho Nai, and Trang Dai wards to implement the project. However, there are some cases where the land owner is absent and cannot be identified.
Therefore, Bien Hoa City Land Fund Development Center informs the owners of the recovered land (the list includes 89 plots of land in Trang Dai, Tan Bien and Ho Nai wards) to contact to coordinate in preparing compensation and site clearance records for the project.
In case the land plot users do not contact, the Land Fund Development Center will carry out procedures to establish a compensation and support plan for absent and unidentified owners according to regulations.
The San Mau stream dredging project has a total investment of about 377 billion VND, of which the cost of compensation for site clearance is more than 143 billion VND.
According to preliminary statistics, when implementing the project, about 117 houses were affected, with a construction area of about 7.7 hectares.
The project is about 6km long, draining a basin of 14.87km2, with a 3m wide road on both banks. The project will build 70 drainage culverts into the canal and build 9 new bridges across the canal.
The project aims to ensure drainage for residents in Trang Dai, Ho Nai, Tan Bien and Tan Hoa wards, combined with internal traffic to reduce traffic on existing roads.
The project also contributes to reducing the risk of flooding due to flow blockage, improving the water and air environment due to foul odors from the stream, creating a fresh environment, landscape on both sides of the stream and improving the quality of life of local people.
The project has a dredging volume of about 217,000m3 and has been approved by the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee for its environmental impact assessment report in 2020.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, a representative of the Dong Nai Province Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the San Mau stream dredging project has completed the construction plan and is waiting for site clearance to start the project.
