According to the Dong Thap Department of Finance, as of June 19, the total value of public investment capital disbursement in the province reached 1,915.5 billion VND, equal to 17.9% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 16.5% of the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council after adjustment. Although lower than the national average (21.6%), the disbursement progress is improving month by month.
It is estimated that by the end of June, the total disbursed value reached about 2,500 billion VND, equivalent to 23.3% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 21.6% of the plan assigned by the Provincial People's Council. In the second quarter alone, the disbursed value is estimated at 1,907.4 billion VND, 3.2 times higher than the first quarter, showing the effectiveness of accelerating the acceptance and payment of completed volumes.
Regarding capital sources for national target programs, Dong Thap has been supplemented by the Central Government with 135 billion VND to implement the national target program for cultural development in the period 2025-2035. The province is completing procedures for allocating capital sources, and at the same time developing a medium-term public investment plan to synchronously implement four national target programs in the period 2026-2030.
Key transport projects continue to be focused on directing to create momentum for economic development and strengthen regional connectivity.
In which, the Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway project (phase 1) has reached about 76-77% of the construction volume. The My An - Cao Lanh expressway project is being implemented on schedule, site clearance has reached 99.9% of the area and the locality is coordinating to study a plan to expand the project to a complete scale.

The Cao Lanh - Lo Te route and waterway overpasses have been completed and are undergoing handover procedures to put into operation.
Besides the achieved results, some projects still face difficulties. Typically, the DT. 857 route project (National Highway 30 - DT. 845 section) has a disbursement progress of only 6.3% due to contractors facing financial difficulties, construction stone prices and increased transportation costs.
In the coming time, the province expects projects such as the group of 6 inter-level boarding schools in the border area, expanding the Dong Thap Muoi Ecological Reserve and overcoming riverbank erosion in the Thuong Phuoc area to create a large disbursement volume, contributing to completing the 2026 target.
