The Van Thanh bridge project in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province with a total investment of about 225 billion VND, started in January 2023 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
On the afternoon of May 29, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Hoang - Head of the project management department under the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board of Binh Thuan province said that the project's construction progress has so far reached about 53% of the contract volume.
Currently, 1 abutment and 5 pillars have been completed, 114 bridge girders have been cast, 44 concrete mounds have been filled, 1 bridge girder span has been installed and equipment is being arranged, preparing the ground for the implementation of the next 4 bridge girder spans in June 2025.
Site clearance work still faces many difficulties and obstacles. The total land area to be recovered to implement the Van Thanh bridge project is 1.66 ha/39 records. To date, 8 dossiers have been paid. The Phan Thiet City Land Fund Development Center has coordinated with the Investor, construction unit and locality to mobilize the handover of the site in advance with an area of over 1.2 hectares, reaching 72.5%.
In addition, construction work at the construction site is facing difficulties and construction measures must be adjusted to suit the difficult situation of the site and the actual conditions of the contractor. According to the construction site, there are currently many machines and construction workers.
Currently, the Management Board of the Traffic Construction Investment Project of Binh Thuan province is urging the construction unit to speed up the progress to ensure completion according to the requirements.
The locality is also focusing on coordinating to resolve problems related to compensation and site clearance to hand over to the construction unit.
According to the design, Van Thanh Bridge is 714 m long, including 6 spans, 295 m long approach road, 27 m wide roadbed, 15 m road surface, and 6 m sidewalks on each side.
The goal of the Van Thanh Bridge Project, Phan Thiet City is to serve the travel needs and exchange goods between Van Thanh residential area and Phan Thiet city center; gradually complete traffic infrastructure, urban beautification, meet the development requirements of a type II urban area and strengthen security and national defense in the locality.
