After Tu Lien Bridge, Hanoi will start construction of 6 more bridges in 2025

Hanoi - After starting the construction of Tu Lien Bridge, the City People's Committee is continuing to direct investors to complete documents and start construction of 6 large bridges in 2025.

On the morning of May 19, the City People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Tu Lien Bridge Construction Investment Project and the road at both ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam Street to the intersection with Truong Sa Street).

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies and Hanoi City.

Starting construction of a series of large bridges

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh said that according to the planning for transportation of transportation in Hanoi capital until 2030, a vision to 2050, Tu Lien Bridge is one of 18 road bridges crossing the Red River, playing an important role in the connection of traffic, urban development on both sides of the river and synchronously connected to the Center of the National Exhibition Fair, the Northern River, the Northern Provincial Airport).

Tu Lien Bridge contributes to reducing the load on existing bridges, contributing to serving the socio-economic development of the capital to achieve the growth target of over 8% in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years.

The Tu Lien Bridge construction investment project and the road at both ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam Street to the intersection with Truong Sa Street) includes 4 component projects (including 3 component projects for site clearance; 1 construction investment project) with a total investment of about VND 20,171 billion (site clearance VND 4,332 billion; construction investment VND 15,839 billion).

The total length of the project is about 5.15km, starting point connecting with Nghi Tam street, Tay Ho district, ending point connecting with Truong Sa street, Dong Anh district.

The Tu Lien bridge works with the architectural design of the cable -stayed bridge with two wire surfaces, the main span length and the height of the large tower, the diagonal diagram on a plane will create an architectural accents and after completion in 2027 will be one of the symbolic works of Hanoi City.

With the determination and fierce participation of the entire political system of the city, with the help and guidance of ministries and central branches, up to now, after more than 5 months, the conditions for commencement of the investment project to build Tu Lien Bridge and the two ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam road to the intersection with Truong Sa street) have ensured the prescribed and responding to the proposed schedule.

"This is the first Red River overpass project to start construction in 2025. At the same time, the Hanoi People's Committee is continuing to direct investors to complete documents and start a series of 6 major bridge projects, to also start construction this year, such as: Hong Ha bridge, Me So bridge (Ring Road 4); Thuong Cat, Ngoc Hoi bridge (Ring Road 3.5); Tran Hung Dao bridge and Van Phuc bridge" - Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee said.

3 proposals for the project to be implemented on schedule

According to Mr. Tran Sy Thanh, the City People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts of the investor, relevant city departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts: Tay Ho, Long Bien and Dong Anh and related units, especially the support of units and people within the project scope in site clearance so that the project can start construction on schedule.

In order for the project to be implemented effectively and on schedule, the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee suggested that the investor and the contractor concentrate the construction resources to ensure quality, safety and progress. People's Committees of districts: Tay Ho, Long Bien and Dong Anh focus on site clearance for the remaining area within the scope of the project according to the process and regulations to soon hand over clean ground. Departments and branches advise promptly remove obstacles, ensure the project is implemented smoothly in the context of implementing the new government model (applied from 1.7.2025).

Mr. Tran Sy Thanh said that in the coming time, the city will continue to implement major projects such as: Ring Road 4 - Capital Region, other river bridges. The city hopes to continue to receive the attention, direction and support of leaders of the Party, State and central ministries, departments and branches so that the projects can be implemented synchronously and effectively.
