On March 11, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Phan Thiet Airport project.
According to the approved Planning, Phan Thiet airport includes military airport and civil airport. Up to now, the military airport project in Phan Thiet has been basically completed by the Ministry of National Defense. Including common items: Runway, taxiway, waiting yard; accurate landing equipment system; approach road; traffic lights, signs, etc. have been completed and put into use.

In particular, the Phan Thiet Airport project, the civil aviation item under the form of a BOT contract is carrying out procedures to adjust the investment policy (increasing the scale from level 4C to 4E). Up to now, the adjusted Pre-Feasibility Study Report dossier has been appraised by the Interdisciplinary Appraisal Council.
Regarding compensation and site clearance, localities have basically completed the approach points, air defense targets, connecting roads and relocating 220 kV lines affected by the clearance. Currently, there are 2 records in Ham Thuan Bac district affected by the power line corridor and the construction at a religious facility affected by the clearance. Ham Thuan Bac District People's Committee is continuing to mobilize the above-mentioned relevant units to hand over the site. At the same time, develop a construction protection plan when the construction unit plans to pull the ropes.

Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Do Huu Huy requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant units to prepare the Pre-feasibility Study Report for the Phan Thiet Airport project, civil aviation item under a BOT contract to advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and approval of the project investment policy adjustment.
At the same time, continue to implement related work to speed up the project implementation progress, striving to start construction in October 2025. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant localities to focus on compensation and site clearance for the remaining items, to be completed in March 2025.
