The Van Thanh Bridge project in Phan Thiet city with a total investment of about 225 billion VND, started in January 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of December 2024. However, the construction progress to date has only reached about 51% of the contract volume.
According to the design, Van Thanh Bridge is 714m long, including 6 spans, 295m long approach road, 27m wide roadbed, 15m road surface, and 6m sidewalks on each side.

According to records at the construction site, there are still machinery and construction workers. Currently, the contractor is constructing underwater items near the shore and is still having difficulties in compensation and site clearance. The Phan Thiet City Land Fund Development Center coordinated with relevant units to mobilize the handover of the site in advance of about 10,000m2.

The implementation of construction at the construction site is facing difficulties due to the need to adjust construction methods to suit actual conditions.
Currently, the Management Board of the Traffic Construction Investment Project of Binh Thuan province is determined, urging the construction unit to speed up the progress to ensure completion according to the requirements.

The locality also focuses on coordinating to resolve problems related to compensation and site clearance.

The goal of the Van Thanh Bridge Project, Phan Thiet City is to serve the travel needs and exchange goods between Van Thanh residential area and Phan Thiet city center; gradually complete traffic infrastructure, urban beautification, meet the development requirements of a type II urban area and strengthen security and national defense in the locality.
