According to the Ninh Kieu Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board, two intersections No. 1 (Mau Than - 3 Thang 2 - Tran Hung Dao) belonging to Ninh Kieu ward and No. 4 (Nguyen Van Linh - 3 Thang 2) belonging to Tan An ward are being implemented according to the plan.
However, the progress between the two projects has a clear difference, mainly due to site clearance at intersection No. 1 still facing difficulties, while intersection No. 4 has completed site handover.

Accordingly, the No. 1 intersection project was started on March 12, 2025, the construction time according to the contract is 360 days and has been extended to June 30, 2026.
Up to now, the contractor has deployed a number of initial technical infrastructure items, mainly related to rainwater drainage systems such as concrete pouring of manholes and culvert pillows. However, these items are currently temporarily suspended or partially constructed because there is no continuous clean site to organize synchronous construction.
The total recovered land area of the project is 5,960m2, affecting 111 cases, including 101 households and 10 organizations. The inventory and measurement work has been fully carried out in 111/111 cases. To date, functional agencies have issued 28 land recovery decisions, and are continuing to submit to Ninh Kieu Ward People's Committee to issue 23 other decisions.

Regarding compensation and support, payments have been made to 58 cases with a total budget of about 292.676 billion VND. However, the progress of site handover is still slow, with only 26 cases handed over, equivalent to about 850m2/5. 960m2.
The lack of a synchronous clean site is identified as the main reason affecting the construction progress at intersection No. 1.
Unlike intersection No. 1, the intersection No. 4 project is being implemented smoothly thanks to the completion of site clearance.
The project was started on April 3, 2025, the construction time is 360 days and is also extended to June 30, 2026. Currently, the contractor is deploying the construction of excavation and installation of rainwater drainage culverts D800, D1000 on branch 1 (Nguyen Van Linh street towards Cai Rang), branch 2 (Nguyen Van Linh street towards Mau Than street), branch 4 (Nguyen Van Linh street towards 30 Thang 4 street).

According to reports, site clearance at intersection No. 4 has been completed in 33/33 affected cases. The total recovered area is about 929.5m2 of urban residential land. The entire process from counting, land recovery notice to issuing recovery decisions and approving compensation funds has been completed.
The total compensation and support cost has been approved and paid more than 77.26 billion VND, reaching 100%. At the same time, the entire site has been handed over to the investor for construction deployment.
Regarding resettlement work, there are 2 cases eligible for land allocation at Ninh Kieu Resettlement Area. These households have been approved for policies, organized to draw lots and handed over actual land plots.
The project to renovate and expand 5 key traffic intersections is of great significance in reducing traffic congestion, improving traffic capacity, contributing to urban beauty and promoting socio-economic development of Can Tho City.
The project to invest in construction, renovation and expansion of 5 intersections was approved by Can Tho City People's Committee in November 2023, with a total investment of more than 1,196 billion VND.
5 intersections are being renovated including: intersection No. 1 (Mau Than - 3 Thang 2 - Tran Hung Dao); intersection No. 2 (Mau Than - Nguyen Van Cu - Vo Van Kiet); intersection No. 3 (Nguyen Van Linh - Nguyen Van Cu); intersection No. 4 (Nguyen Van Linh - 3 Thang 2) and intersection No. 5 (Nguyen Van Linh - 30 Thang 4).
