On September 9, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province worked with the investor consortium of DonaCoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group on the progress of investment preparation documents for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to Tran Bien, Long Thanh airport and develop the TOD urban model.
According to the investor consortium, the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Tran Bien metro line, Long Thanh airport has a total length of about 38.5km, expected to include 3 sections:
The section from S0 station to the new administrative center of Dong Nai province (at Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park), about 6.5km long; the section from the new administrative center of Dong Nai province to Long Thanh airport, about 27km long and the section from the new administrative center of Dong Nai province to the central axis road of Bien Hoa city (formerly), about 5km long.
The investor consortium also proposed the form of project investment under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, BT contract.
Of which, the capital of about VND65,000 billion to invest in the construction of the entire project will be used entirely by the investor.
The capital for site clearance for the project will be implemented by the state using public investment capital.
The investor consortium also proposed to separate the project into independent component projects including: Compensation and site clearance project (implemented by the State); Project to build 33.5km of metro from S0 station to S2.4 station and Long Thanh airport; Project to build 5km of metro towards the central axis of Bien Hoa city (previously).
At the meeting, the investor consortium also proposed 7 areas along the metro line to implement the development of the TOD urban model with a total area of over 880 hectares.
Concluding the working session, Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee proposed that the investor consortium closely coordinate with the Department of Construction to shorten the time to prepare project investment preparation documents to submit project documents to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in September 2025.
At the same time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha also assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate with the investor consortium to review and re-determine the project route in the shortest and most favorable direction. Determine the location of the project's stations to calculate the development of the TOD urban model next to the stations.
For the project's stations in urban areas, underground construction must be designed and constructed.
