On August 27, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued a document approving the investor's proposal for the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh airport under the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
After reviewing the proposal of the consortium of DonaCoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group, the opinions of the Department of Finance and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee gave opinions on the policy and approved the proposal of the Department of Finance on assigning the consortium of DonaCoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group as the investor to propose the project to extend the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line to Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh Airport under the PPP form.
According to this decision, the scale of the study of the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien Metro extension project to Bien Hoa city and Long Thanh airport has a total route length of about 38.5km, expected to include 3 sections: The section from S0 station to the new administrative center of Dong Nai province (in Bien Hoa Industrial Park 1), about 6.5km long; the section from the new administrative center of Dong Nai province to Long Thanh airport, about 27km long and the section from the new administrative center of Dong Nai province to the central axis road of Bien Hoa city, about 5km long.
Previously, the joint venture of DonaCoop Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group sent a document to the provincial authorities to prepare a report proposing an investment policy for the Suoi Tien No. 1 - Long Thanh Metro extension project and develop the TOD smart urban model (Transit - Oriented Development).
The total estimated investment capital is about VND65,000 billion (excluding compensation and site clearance costs), using 100% of the private capital of the consortium and its partners.
