Information from the Land Fund Development Center of Ca Mau province said that the progress of compensation and site clearance for land acquisition, compensation, support and resettlement projects to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport is over 99% compared to the plan.
The project to upgrade and expand Ca Mau airport is implemented in Ward 6 and Tan Thanh Ward, formerly Ca Mau City (now Tan Thanh Ward, Ca Mau Province) affecting 612 households, individuals and organizations; of which, 512 households have land and 100 households have built houses and raised fish on other people's land, with a total area of about 105.85 hectares.
The area of recovered land of households, individuals, and organizations is 99.12ha, traffic and irrigation land is 4.66ha, and cemetery land is 2.07ha (excluding small-scale land).
The competent authorities have approved 14 compensation and resettlement support plans related to 612 households, individuals and organizations affected by the project with an area of 99.12 hectares, with a compensation amount of over 577.1 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Nhan - Deputy Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Ca Mau province - informed that as of July 9, the area of cleared land was 105.68 hectares compared to the total area of the project of 105.85 hectares, reaching a rate of 99.84%. The Provincial Land Fund Development Center has coordinated with relevant units to hand over the site to the representative of Ca Mau Airport with a total area of 104.96 hectares, reaching 99.16% (including traffic, irrigation and cemetery land).
Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV) is coordinating with the People's Committee of Ca Mau province and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to complete land allocation and land lease procedures to qualify for the groundbreaking of the Runway project on August 19.
The Ca Mau Airport Expansion and Upgrade Project was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1188/QD-TTg dated October 15, 2024 with the goal of investing in the construction, expansion and upgrading of Ca Mau Airport to ensure the exploitation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft; creating momentum for economic, cultural and social development, while ensuring national security and defense of Ca Mau province and the region. ACV is assigned the task of being an investor, implemented with ACV's legal capital, with a total investment of about VND 2,400 billion.
