Expecting early completion of the urban highlight project
On the afternoon of June 8, reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper recorded at the Thua Thien Hue Cultural and Sports Square project (Vi Da ward, Hue City), many items have been basically completed, while the gymnasium area still maintains an atmosphere of urgent construction.
At the construction site, workers focused on completing tasks such as building, plastering walls, installing roofing systems, shelters and mechanical and electrical systems. This is an important item under Package No. 11 on renovating the gymnasium.
Previously, An Bao Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company - the unit participating in the construction of the package - had a document requesting the investor to consider extending the project implementation time due to some objective difficulties arising and adjusting the design during the implementation process.
According to the contractor, the bidding package is implemented in a period of 400 days, from January 6, 2025 to February 10, 2026. The construction process has changes in technical solutions and design, affecting the overall progress of the project.
Up to now, although not fully completed according to the extended plan, the rough construction of the gymnasium has been basically completed and is entering the final stage of completing the final items.
Hopefully the project will be completed soon and put into service for the people. We are very comfortable walking here every time, it will be even better when the gymnasium is completed, the scenery will be much more beautiful" - Mr. Quoc Viet (a resident of Hue City) shared.
Accelerate the final items
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Hue City Urban Development and Construction Investment Project Management Board (the project investor) said that the consulting packages of the project have been completed. For the technical infrastructure item under Package No. 10, the project was inaugurated in September 2025 and is currently completing acceptance and handover procedures.
Package No. 11, implemented by the joint venture of An Bao Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company - Vinaconex 25 Joint Stock Company, is worth more than 83.2 billion VND. The investor said that in the past time, they have regularly coordinated with relevant units to remove difficulties and urge contractors to accelerate progress.
We continue to strengthen supervision, requesting contractors to focus manpower and equipment to complete the project soon, and at the same time ensure quality according to the set requirements" - representative of the Project Management Board said.
When completed, the square and gymnasium will create more large-scale cultural and sports space for city residents.
The Thua Thien Hue Culture and Sports Square project has a total investment of 196 billion VND, with an area of about 7.06ha. The project is expected to contribute to renovating the Ba Trieu Gymnasium area, completing the system of public cultural and sports facilities, and creating a landscape highlight for the eastern center of Hue City.
