Construction day and night, racing against the opening day
At the end of August, at the construction site of Dakrong Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Dakrong commune, Quang Tri province), the construction atmosphere was urgent. At the 3-story building that has completed the exterior construction, at night, workers focused on tiling, painting, installing doors, railings, electrical and water equipment. In the schoolyard, construction teams simultaneously paved bricks, built internal roads, and completed the infrastructure system.
This is one of 4 inter-level boarding primary and secondary school (THCS) projects invested by Quang Tri province in Huong Phung, Dan Hoa, Dakrong and Thuong Trach communes, with a total investment of 1,061 billion VND.

The project in Dakrong has a total investment of 220.9 billion VND, with a scale to serve 1,021 students. As of August 27, the project is estimated to reach 85% of the contract volume, with an average of about 270 workers mobilized per day.
In 14 functional buildings in Dakrong, secondary school classroom buildings and administrative, management, and learning support buildings have basically completed the construction and installation part, switching to equipment installation. Primary school classrooms, subject classrooms, student dormitories, teacher dormitories, dining rooms, and multi-purpose buildings are continuing to be completed.
In Huong Phung, an average of about 305 people work per day; Dan Hoa about 260 people; Thuong Trach about 310 people. The army force has also mobilized about 119 officers and soldiers to support at construction sites.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh - Director of the Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works of Quang Tri province (referred to as the Project Management Board) said that the overall progress of all 4 projects has not yet met the plan. Heavy rain, projects in remote and isolated areas, difficult traffic, materials having to be transported for long distances, lack of skilled labor and fluctuations in fuel and material prices have affected the construction process.
Currently, contractors are increasing manpower, machinery, organizing overtime, and increasing shifts. During the September 2nd holiday, all 4 inter-level boarding schools continue to maintain construction day and night.
Preparing from meals to student psychology
In parallel with the race to complete the project, Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee has developed an operating plan for 4 schools from the 2026-2027 school year, with the requirement to prepare synchronously from the organizational structure, teachers, dormitory, kitchen, school health, security to emergency handling plans.
According to the plan, from August 30 to September 4, schools will successively hand over and test run items. On September 3, all students will gather to try to operate synchronously learning activities, accommodation and care before the general rehearsal for the opening ceremony on September 4.
A noteworthy content is the "Accompanying Children to School" plan for elementary school students who live away from their families for the first time. In the first week, from September 3-11, each student is allowed to have a maximum of one parent staying with them in the dormitory, eating with their children 3 meals, guiding personal hygiene, folding blankets and bringing their children to the classroom door.

In the second week, parents move to official residences or guesthouses, only visiting their children during the prescribed hours and eating dinner together. From September 19, parents leave school, students switch to boarding activities completely under the guidance of teachers, care staff and the support of secondary school students.
On August 26 and 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - Secretary of Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee inspected the site of 4 projects. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that the time from now until the opening ceremony is not much, the Project Management Board, contractors and construction units must focus on completing the remaining items to ensure sufficient conditions to organize the opening ceremony according to the plan.
