The Ban Phu - Nam La Lake Cluster Project, Dien Bien Province was approved under Decision No. 3283/QD-BNN-XD dated August 9, 2023 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
This is a group B project with a total investment of 998 billion VND, the Project Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Works of Dien Bien province is the investor of the project.
According to the reporter's investigation, the Project Management Board for Agricultural and Rural Development Works of Dien Bien province recently announced the invitation for bidding for Package 34/2025/XL-BP Construction of the focal works, Water supply system and auxiliary works (including handling termite) of Ban Phu Lake.
The above package was widely bid online, priced at nearly 225 billion VND from the state budget managed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
In the coming time, after the results of contractor selection, the winning bidder will construct Ban Phu lake in the old Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province (now Tuan Giao commune and Pu Nhung commune, Dien Bien province).
Ban Phu Lake includes the following items: Level II focal works; irrigation water supply system and auxiliary works. The reservoir has a total capacity of 3.01 million m3, including: Dams; flood discharge; drainage culverts; pipeline systems; mechanical, electrical, monitoring systems; construction roads combined with management and management housing areas.
The construction period of Ban Phu Lake is 25 months.

As part of the project, on March 25, 2024, the Nam La lake project with a total investment of more than 509 billion VND was started in Muong Nhe commune, Muong Nhe district (now Muong Nhe commune).
Nam La Lake includes the following items: Level II headworks; irrigation water supply system and auxiliary works. The reservoir has a capacity of 2.43 million m3, including: Dams, floodgates with valve gates, sewers, irrigation water supply systems, construction roads combined with management and management housing areas.
The construction period of Nam La Lake is 30 months.
The Ban Phu - Nam La Reservoir Cluster Project is invested and built to effectively exploit and use surface water in the area to serve domestic water supply, agricultural production and develop industrial parks; use and maximize the available land potential, contributing to the socio-economic development of the old Tuan Giao and Muong Nhe districts in particular and Dien Bien province in general.
