On the afternoon of November 18, satellite cloud images, weather radar images and lightning positioning showed that the thunderstorm area is developing and causing rain with thunderstorms and lightning in all wards/communes of Thanh An, An Nhon Tay, Tay Nam, Tan An Hoi, Cu Chi, Thanh An, Phu Hoa Dong, Bau Bang, Linh Xuan, Hoa Hiep and the sea area of Ho Chi Minh City. The cloud area will move from East to West.
It is forecasted that in the next 3 hours, thunderstorms will continue to develop, causing showers with thunderstorms and lightning in all neighborhoods, groups, hamlets and villages in the wards/communes mentioned above. After that, thunderstorms tend to expand to neighboring areas such as An Nhon Tay commune, Thai My commune, Nga Tu area, Nhuan Duc commune, Trang Tho, Hiep Binh, Tam Binh, Long Binh wards... Rainfall is generally 10-20 mm, in some places over 25 mm.
During thunderstorms, it is necessary to be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, hail, strong gusts of wind of level 5-8 (821 m/s) that can cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure, endangering lives. Heavy rain can cause localized flooding in low-lying areas.

In the next 5 days, the highest water level of the day at most stations on the Saigon River will rise following the high tide in early October of the lunar calendar. The peak tide in this period is likely to appear on November 19-21.
At Phu An station, Nha Be may reach 1.60-1.65 m (about or 0.05 m above alert level 3). Thu Dau Mot Station will increase to 1.70-1.80 m (0.10-0.20 m higher than alert level 3).
